It is important to remember that Dig|Safely. New York is for requesting stake-outs. Precious seconds will be wasted if you call us by mistake.

If a gas leak occurs, for any reason, be sure to evacuate the area immediately and call the Fire Department, Police Department, and Gas Company as soon as possible.

If you cannot find the phone number for the affected facility owner, call the fire and police departments anyway. After they have been notified, Dig|Safely. New York can assist you with finding the company's telephone numbers. Be aware, however, that calling Dig|Safely. New York is in no way a substitute for notifying the gas company.
