i-Notice

The Dig|Safely. New York i-notice program allows an excavator to directly enter location requests into the IRTH database system over the internet.

What Are The Benefits?

Using i-notice allows you, the excavator, the freedom to create your own location requests on the internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. By using the i-notice system you will sastify all the requirements of a dig notification as mandated in NYS Code Rule 753 without having to wait on the phone. I-notice also provides you with access to our electronic maps which allows you to represent your own digsite utilizing the polygon features of the system. Finally, i-notice allows you the opportunity to print or manage your location requests electronically. This feature is the most valued by current i-notice users, as they can easily track their locations or print a listing of facility operators that have been notified along with their telephone numbers.

What Do You Need?

  1. Access to the internet (high speed is recommended)
  2. An email account
  3. An assigned username and password (this is assigned to you from Dig|Safely. New York at your request, see "To Sign Up" for more information).

What Are The Benefits?

If your submissions are accepted, you will receive a copy of your location requests electronically. This feature is the most valued by current i-notice users, as they can easily track their locations or print a listing of facility operators that have been notified along with their telephone numbers.

What Do You Need?

  1. Access to the internet
  2. An email account
  3. Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari

Additional Notes

  1. i-Notice Jr. submissions require an extra working-day of lead time.
  2. This feature is under development, and is a tentative offering.
  3. Submission rates are limited. High volume callers are not allowed to use this method.
  4. Garbage in, Garbage out. If you submit junk, you can expect that we will discard it.
