Postponing your work date

Let's face it, job details get changed all the time, including when the job will actually begin.

If the starting date of the excavation changes, Dig|Safely. New York may or may not need to know about it -

• If the postponement is for ten working days or less, Dig|Safely. New York does not need to be notified.
• If the postponement is for more than ten working days, Dig|Safely. New York must be called to make a new location request.

Once the starting date has arrived, the excavator is responsible for maintaining the utility markings... which is why postponements over 10 days are important. If there are ever any questions about the markings or responses from the utilities, excavators should always call Dig Safely New York back.
