Dig Safely New York “Springs Into Safety” with New Training Opportunity

Around this time last year, we at Dig Safely New York were preparing for our annual Excavator Safety Seminars. Our annual seminar series are events that we have relied on to train thousands of excavators in a short amount of time during New York’s “construction off-season.” With COVID-19 still looming, we have decided to change our seminar series in 2021 to smaller breakfast training classes. We have planned 26 in-person Spring Into Safety events for March and April 2022. These educational opportunities will be capped at 50 attendees and allow for us to have the face-to-face interaction we have been missing for nearly a year now. To kick off these events, we will be hosting virtual training classes throughout February. We will offer one virtual session for each weekday in February, hoping to gain attendance from those who either cannot make the in-person events in March/April, or would feel more comfortable joining us online. Our goal to host the 26 Spring Into Safety events throughout New York State in March and April will largely depend on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and state regulations for in-person event capacity. We are holding out hope but have a plan to transition our events to be virtual if necessary.

Like everyone in 2020, we are still taking things one day at a time and trying to make the best decisions for all our stakeholders for safety, for family, for community.
